Lake County, Florida:

  • Location and Population: Lake County is situated in central Florida and forms part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. According to the 2020 census, it had a population of 383,956.

  • Geography: The county is named for its abundance of water bodies, boasting 250 named lakes and a total of 1,735 lakes and ponds.   • County Seat and Largest City: Tavares serves as the county seat, while Clermont is the largest city in Lake County.

Notable attractions include the Lakeridge Winery and Vineyards, Venetian Gardens Park, Mission Inn Resort and Club, and popular events like the Leesburg Bikefest and Mount Dora Arts Festival.

  • Climate: The county experiences a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and mild winters.
