Spanning approximately 4.3 square miles—with 0.5 square miles of water—and home to around 10,169 residents, it blends natural charm with suburban comfort.

Cypress Gardens began as Florida’s first commercial tourist theme park, founded in 1936 by Dick Pope Sr. and his wife Julie. Situated on Lake Eloise, the park showcased botanical gardens, iconic Southern Belles, and water ski shows—earning national fame as the “Water-Ski Capital of the World”. Through movies, newsreels, and celebrity visits, Cypress Gardens became a symbol of Old Florida charm.

Although the historic park closed in 2009, its legacy lives on. The botanical garden and many features have been preserved within LEGOLAND Florida Resort, which now operates on the original grounds and continues water-ski performances with a LEGO twist.

The Cypress Gardens neighborhood is a peaceful, lake-filled enclave known for its lush landscaping and accessibility to LEGOLAND, making it a family-friendly and affordable area in Polk County. Quiet streets, lakeside views, and a touch of Florida history make Cypress Gardens a unique and welcoming community.
