New Construction in Clewiston
The City of Clewiston has approved two related planned unit developments (PUDs) for large-scale mixed-use residential communities north and south of U.S. 27 along the western city boundary. These include the Gateway North and Marina PUD and the Gateway South PUD, collectively referred to in city documents as the Clewiston 440 PUD encompassing approximately 477 acres. The approvals, formalized in Ordinance 2024-12 and related planning actions, authorize up to 1,349 residential units across single-family homes, townhouses, and apartments, along with commercial elements. Construction has not yet begun on the residential components, but supporting infrastructure work, including a water main extension, is scheduled to start in 2026, with phased development anticipated thereafter. No other specific new residential construction projects currently under construction or in active development within Clewiston city limits were identified.
