Developer planning to build massive, 13-acre Orlando surf park on former construction landfill site- The facility would be a massive 13-acre pool, surrounded by an artificial beach. The pool would be 14 feet deep, at its lowest point, and hold 35 million gallons of water. Most importantly, the wave machine in the middle is capable of creating waves big enough to train professional surfers.

Members of the Clermont Police Department (CPD) rolled up their sleeves for the annual “Tip-A-Cop” fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse, 2457 South US-27, Clermont, on Wednesday evening, March 13^th.  The officers helped the wait staff with serving food, drinks, and customer hospitality needs throughout the evening to help support the Special Olympics Florida (SOF).  SOF volunteers were on-site as well to offer for sale t-shirts, ballcaps, and trinkets to the diners. Dozens of residents attended the City of Clermont’s Comprehensive Plan meeting at the city hall February 22 to learn about how their opinions can shape its future vision.

A Comprehensive Plan is the rulebook a municipality uses for responsible planning and development for the next 15-20 years. Clermont’s last plan was made in 2009.

With the guidance of the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council, the second community workshop was held to share ideas, concerns and priorities from residents and local businesses.
