A powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck near Mandalay, Myanmar, impacting both Myanmar and Thailand. The quake resulted in the collapse of hundreds of homes in Myanmar, with strong aftershocks felt in Thailand, causing multiple buildings in Bangkok to collapse. The United States Geological Survey estimates that there could be thousands of fatalities.
