New Construction in University
The University of South Florida is advancing the Fletcher District, a major mixed-use redevelopment on the site of the former Claw golf course in Tampa. This 27-acre project includes significant new residential components: approximately 696 undergraduate student beds in 335,000 square feet of housing and 150 multifamily apartments totaling about 159,160 square feet for graduate students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. Construction is slated to begin in spring 2026, with initial openings targeted for fall 2028. The development forms part of a broader campus initiative and will integrate housing with retail, dining, academic, research, and hotel facilities.
