New Construction Projects in Bay Lake, Florida

Project 1: Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge

• Developer: Walt Disney World / Disney Vacation Club
• Location: Shores of Bay Lake (former River Country site), between Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Bay Lake, FL
• Type: Resort / Hospitality (Disney Vacation Club resort with studios, villas, and Lake Houses)
• Units/Size: 967 rooms/accommodations (including traditional rooms, studios, multi-bedroom villas, and exclusive waterfront Lake Houses); features extensive outdoor recreation areas
• Status: Under Construction
• Expected Completion: July 1, 2027 (opening date)
• Description: Nature-themed resort on the Bay Lake shoreline featuring guest rooms inspired by Disney films, multiple pools (including a zero-entry feature pool with waterslide and lazy river), waterfront Lake Houses, dining options, and boat access. It is transforming the former River Country water park site with views toward Magic Kingdom.[1][2]

Note: Bay Lake is a small incorporated city largely encompassing Walt Disney World property, limiting non-Disney residential or commercial new construction. Searches did not identify any other verifiable new residential, mixed-use, or commercial projects in the city proper (projects like Bay Lake Farms are located in nearby St. Cloud, FL). Minor infrastructure work, such as dock expansions at Bay Lake Service Marina, was noted but does not qualify as a significant new construction project.
